2018 Election

The 2018 General Local Election will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Salmo Valley Youth & Community Centre (SVYCC) from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

One Advance Voting opportunity will be held at the SYVCC on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

The Nomination period began at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and ended at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 14, 2018.  Eligibility for being nominated for and holding office of Mayor or Councillor can be found on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing website (see link below).  The Village of Salmo has two candidates for one position of Mayor, and six candidates for four positions of Councillor, all for four-year terms. A complete list of candidates and requirements for voting are available on the Notice of Election.
