It’s that time of the year again……. Avalanche Awareness Days January 19-20th,

Avalanche Awareness Days is an annual event, held in various communities throughout Canada, designed to raise public awareness of avalanches and avalanche safety. Each year, roughly 30 communities across Canada hold local or regional events on this weekend or later in the winter. Each community organizes it’s own events and activities. Examples of what you might find in a community near you include: avalanche search and mock rescue, avalanche dog scenarios, back country skills races, transceiver search competitions, snow pit demonstrations, evening presentations and fundraisers, silent auctions or raffles, info booths on avalanche safety and more!
