The Village of Salmo is pleased to announce the names of the artists whose work has been selected for the next round of window art displays. They are Salmo metal artist Howard Roo, Salmo reclaimed woodwork artist Fred Manning and Fruitvale stained glass pop culture artist Petri Rantanen. The new art exhibits will be on display from March 1st until June 30th, 2018.
The three Village Art Windows, which are visible from the highway and lit at night, were constructed to provide an opportunity for Salmo Valley and Kootenay region artists to showcase their work in a way that is visible to pedestrians walking along Salmo’s Main Street and street traffic. The art windows help to support the arts and encourage visitors to explore Salmo.
The art will be on display for a 4 month interval after which new displays will be selected from applicants. Priority is given to Salmo Valley and Kootenay region artists and seasonal items during relevant seasons. Both individuals and groups may apply. Applications are received on an ongoing basis.
