Economic Development Committee
Meetings are held quarterly at the Village Office, 423 Davies Avenue, Salmo, BC. Schedule of meeting dates will be posted in the near future.
Salmo’s Economic Development Standing Committee (EDSC) is comprised of six members, which include three members selected at large and three Council members.
The currently appointed members are:
- Stephen B. White, Mayor, Chair
- Steve Dimock, Councillor
- Diana Lockwood, Councillor
- Lamiah Arnold-Trower, Owner, Dragonfly Café
- Bill Baird, Owner, Billy’s Auto
- Tyler Rice, President, Margaux Resources
Chief Administrative Officer Diane Kalen-Sukra is the staff advisor to this committee.

About the Committee
The Salmo Economic Development Standing Committee (EDSC) makes recommendations to Council on matters relating to the economic well-being of the Village of Salmo and makes recommendations to Council relating to the economic development of Salmo.
The EDSC is focused on the retention and expansion of existing business, attracting new investment and promoting Salmo as an ideal place to live, work and play. It may also make recommendations to Council on matters related to the strengthening of the Village’s local economy and contributing to strategic business planning
Appear as a Delegation
At each regular quarterly meeting, the EDSC invites presentations by citizens or other parties on economic development related issues in the Village of Salmo. In accordance with the Council Procedure Bylaw, you must submit a request in writing to the Chief Administrative Officer ([email protected]) at least a week prior to the meeting at which you wish to appear. If there is not an available time slot, you will be contacted by a staff member to make alternative arrangements for your request. Due to time constraints, it is necessary to limit delegation appearances to 10 minutes. The request can be mailed to Box 1000, Salmo, BC V0G 1Z0.
