DECLARATION OF CANDIDATES (September 9, 2022)
The 2022 General Local Election will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Salmo Valley Youth & Community Centre (SVYCC) from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
One Advance Voting opportunity will be held at SVYCC from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
ADVANCE ELECTOR REGISTRATION
Are you eligible to vote in the October elections for Mayor and Council for the VILLAGE OF SALMO? Is your name on the current list of electors?
If you are not sure you can find out by calling (250) 357-9433 or visiting the Village Office at 423 Davies Avenue, Salmo. The office is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
Advance elector registrations will be accepted at the Village of Salmo municipal office until Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Elector registrations will not be accepted during the period August 25 through October 15 but will be accepted on voting days.
The Nomination period begins at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 and ends at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022. Eligibility for being nominated for and holding office of Mayor or Councillor can be found on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing website (see link below).
